Enter to Win $100 by Spotting the Superstition Mountains’ Cougar Shadow
Rules and Instructions for Participants
Apache Junction is embarking on a new social media campaign featuring a community treasure, the Superstition Mountains’ cougar shadow. Various businesses/organizations throughout Apache Junction will be displaying a cutout of the cougar shadow to highlight this treasure, and it is also an opportunity to visit those businesses/organizations and possibly win $100. When customers spot the cougar shadow cutout within the participating business, those customers can enter a chance to win a $100 cash! Here’s how to enter a chance to win:
- Follow the Apache Junction Area Chamber of Commerce’s Facebook page
- Starting the week of Monday, January 29, 2024, go to the Chamber’s Facebook page to find out where you can find the cougar shadow cutout for that week.
- Each participating business/organization will have the cougar shadow cutout on display within their respective business for their designated week.
- Spot the cougar shadow cutout and take a photo with you next to the shadow at the participating business.
- Upload the photo on your Facebook profile while also tagging the Apache Junction Area Chamber of Commerce, the City of Apache Junction, and the specific participating businesses. Be sure that all three entities are identified on the post in order to enter into the $100 drawing.
One entry is allowed per person each week when the cougar shadow is featured at each business/ organization. The time to view the cutout display will be based on the business hours of that particular business/organization. One participant will be drawn randomly. The winner of the $100 will be announced on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 on the Apache Junction Area Chamber of Commerce’s Facebook page. It’s time to spot the Superstition Mountains’ cougar shadow and visit our Apache Junction businesses and organizations!

Where can I find out the location of Superstition Mountains’ cougar shadow cutout? Follow the Apache Junction Area Chamber of Commerce’s and the City of Apache Junction’s Facebook page to find out where the cutout will be displayed. The respective business/organization name, address, and website will be posted on the City’s and Chamber’s Facebook page during their designated week.
Do I need a Facebook account to enter into the $100 drawing? Yes
What if I have a problem with uploading the photo and tagging the City, Chamber and the participating business? We encourage all participants to visit the Apache Junction Chamber of Commerce Office/Visitor Center during the week of January 29, 2024, through Saturday, February 3, 2024 (which is the first week of the promotion) to become accustomed to taking the photo and uploading it to your Facebook page properly. Additionally, there will be a video showing the participants on how to upload the photo and tag the City, Chamber, and participating business. That video will be posted on the Apache Junction Area Chamber of Commerce’s and the City of Apache Junction’s Facebook pages.
What if I do not tag the City, Chamber, and participating business while uploading my photo? Unfortunately, the uploaded photo will not count as an official entry. All three entities need to be tagged in order for the Facebook profile name to show up and allow staff to properly enter that name in the $100 drawing.
